May Book Drop
Knocking on Death's Door
I’ve been sick as a dog with what my sister has identified (Webmd style) as walking pneumonia for the past month-ish, so please bear with me as I’m 5 days late to tell you about our May book drop. I have the constitution of a sallow Victorian orphan and I’m telling everyone about it.
This month we’ll be reading The Dry Heart by Natalia Ginzburg. This 88 page dynamo begins with the unnamed narrator shooting her husband between the eyes. The following recounts what led her to this point. New Directions Publishing wrote that this book begs the question - “Why don’t more women murder their husbands?” Some food for thought.
The meetup for The Dry Heart will be on Wednesday 5/27 at 5:30pm on the 2nd floor of the Khyber Pass Pub.
You can order the book online at Head House Books and get 10% off when you use the code “SHORTSTACK.” Order online for pickup in store of delivery.
Tonight is our meetup for Point Omega. Come hang out and help me make this event the best super spreader since the 2020 Mardi Gras. (I’m just kidding, I’m not contagious anymore)

i too have been asking the same question. 😂 excited to read this!
